The Role of Climate Litigation in Climate Justice

In this episode, we explore how legal cases are becoming a force for justice, holding both corporations and governments responsible for their role in climate impacts. We are joined by Noah Walker Crawford, a research fellow at University College London and advisor to Germanwatch, as well as Saúl Luciano Lliuya from Peru. We learn about the landmark Saúl vs. RWE case, where the Peruvian farmer and mountain guide sued the major German energy company RWE for the impacts climate change is having on the area where he lives and works. We explore the growing role of litigation in the fight for climate justice, the importance of the loss and damage debate, and the potential of legal action to reshape the future of climate action.
